Description
Water lily seed (ඕලු හාල් ) is dark bead-like seeds exacted from the fruit of the water lily (Olu) with full of medicinal and nutritional benefits. It is consumed as a substitute for rice, especially for those who should restrict their carb consumption. Olu haal become an exotic element of contemporary Sri Lankan dishes. Use in preparing porridge for best nutritional benefits.
Ingredient: 100% Water-lily seeds
Preparation: keep 3-4 hours/overnight in water to make it easy for cooking, or cook for a little longer time to make it soft and cooked perfectly. Can cook as Olu-rice or mixed with other rice.
